Trivia: The Godzilla parody movie that the Skulls are watching at the beginning of the episode says it is presented by Roger Shnorman. This is a reference to cult-film director Roger Corman, who himself was an executive producer on a Fantastic Four film that was made around the same time this series aired, but was deliberately never released. Trivia: This is the third film in the X-Men franchise to make reference to the villain Mr. Sinister, following X-Men: Apocalypse and Deadpool 2, by way of the Essex Corporation (Nathaniel Essex being Mr. Sinister's real name). The logo for the Essex Corporation is a diamond, similar to the ones Mr. Sinister has on his forehead and chest in the comics. Unfortunately, since this is the final film in the Fox X-Men franchise, Mr. Sinister himself never made a physical appearance in any of the films.

Trivia: Following Disney's acquisition of Fox, the creators of this show pitched a revival to stream on Disney+. Producer Larry Houston has said he would come out of retirement specifically to work on this. The revival - titled X-Men '97 - was announced on Disney+ Day in November of 2021 for a 2024 premiere date, with much of the surviving original cast returning.

Trivia: Eric makes two references to South Park in this episode. When he first greets everyone in detention, he says "Hidee ho" in the same manner as Mr. Hankey the Christmas Poo. Later after everyone discovers Kenny has been killed, he screams "Oh my gosh, they killed Kenny!"

Trivia: The Doctor Manhattan - themed sex toy that Laurie receives is called "Excalibur." This is a clue to Doctor Manhattan actually being Cal Abar, i.e. when he returns to his Doctor Manhattan form, he is "ex Cal Abar".
