Labyrinth (1986)

Revealing mistake: After climbing up the ladder, Hoggle stands up in the large pot, then Sarah climbs out in the foreground and Hoggle is seen raising his body, to climb out of the pot too. However as Sarah lifts her leg out of the pot, Hoggle is seen lowering his body back into the pot. In the next shot he is beside the pot as if he just climbed out. (00:38:00)

Revealing mistake: On the Pelennor fields, the Rohirrim battle the Haradrim on Mûmakil with their bows and arrows. In one particular shot the Rohirrim in the foreground ride towards the right of the screen and the rider at the left lets loose one arrow, then reaches behind him to get another arrow and brings his arm back to the front. However, no arrows are ever visible in his hands. (02:05:20)

Revealing mistake: At Minas Tirith, Grond breaks through the door, then Trolls and Orcs attack. After Gandalf yells, "Volley! Fire!" there is a shot of Orcs, one of which is somewhat bald at the bottom of the screen in the foreground, who run towards the right of the screen. Then other shots including Gandalf slaying a Troll. The last shot of this scene is the same shot of the Orcs running to the right of the screen. (01:48:15)

Revealing mistake: In Minas Tirith, as Gandalf slashes at the Troll to his right with his sword, his left foot disappears and reappears in the Troll to his left. The stirrup under his left foot is completely visible at that point too. (01:48:30)

Revealing mistake: After Gandalf yells at Pippin, "This is no place for a Hobbit!" he hits one Orc up close, then another in the wide shot. The third Orc he swings at with his staff actually falls back, before the staff is anywhere near him. (01:36:20)

Labyrinth (1986)

Revealing mistake: Sarah looks at Hoggle in her vanity mirror and he says, "Well why didn't you say so?" As Sarah starts to stand up it is obvious where the two shots are edited together with her back to the camera, so that at the end of this "one" shot, Sarah's room is filled with her new friends. Her vest's back ties and blouse sleeves are different in the two shots that are edited together as one. (01:35:35)

Labyrinth (1986)

Revealing mistake: Back in her room Sarah puts things away in her vanity drawer, including her music box. The diameter of the music box is greater than the height of the sides of the drawer, which would prevent the drawer from closing properly. On the white front of the vanity table above that drawer, the top lip is cut away to allow for the important shot of Sarah closing the drawer. (00:34:40)

Labyrinth (1986)

Labyrinth mistake picture

Revealing mistake: In many shots throughout the film it is very obvious when it is a blue screen, plate and/or matte painting shot, by the area around the subjects and/or the subjects' appearance or disappearance onscreen. Some examples can be found with the Fireys and Sarah, during the Chilly Downs scene, and later, when Sarah breaks the glass with the chair, part of her face disappears when she stands with the glass behind her. Labyrinth (1986)

Revealing mistake: It is obvious when the owl, that attacks Sarah, is a puppet and when it is a real owl, in consecutive shots. It is also obvious when the snake, that Jareth tosses at Sarah, is real and is a fake in subsequent shots. It is also very apparent when Sir Didymus' dog, Ambrosius, is a real Sheep Dog, or is a puppet Sheep Dog, in consecutive shots as well. (00:11:50 - 01:21:25)

Labyrinth (1986)

Revealing mistake: At Jareth's castle, in the room with the Escher stairs, Sarah sees Toby and she jumps. It's very apparent that it's a stuntwoman jumping from the ledge in the wide shot. (01:30:20)

Labyrinth (1986)

Revealing mistake: Sarah walks over to Ludo as he hangs upside down. Just before she says, "Now, stop that," she takes a step back as Ludo growls and shakes his head around. On his upside down scalp inside his fur a metal clamp on the black material under the fur is visible. (00:43:05)

Peter Pan (2003)

Revealing mistake: At the bank there is a close-up of Mr. Darling with Sir Edward Quiller Couch standing behind him to his right, just as Nana, et al. are about to collide with the bankers. The camera pans in for the extreme close-up of Mr. Darling, who makes a horrified face. Later, when the Darlings are at the party Nana bursts in. Sir Edward again stands to Mr. Darling's right. Mr. Darling puts his hands up in front of himself and the next close-up shot is the very same shot from the bank. Part of Sir Edward's hair is edited and the background is digitally augmented. Peter Pan mistake picture

Revealing mistake: Coming back to look for his shadow, Peter flies into the nursery window and he steps onto the wood floor. In this close-up Peter moves his left foot and as he does Jeremy Sumpter's real shadow is seen under his foot. His shadow is also seen when he is in the hallway then motions for Tink to be quiet, his arm shadow moves across his chest. (00:13:00)

Peter Pan (2003)

Revealing mistake: At the bank, as Nana, Wendy and the letter carrier all skid towards Mr. Darling and the other bankers, in the overhead shot it is not Jason Isaacs (Mr. Darling) standing at the front of the bankers. The hairline is completely different, as he has a prominent receding hairline on both sides of his head which is seen in many shots. (00:09:25)

Peter Pan (2003)

Revealing mistake: At the Black Castle, Hook slams Peter down on a rock, leans over him and proceeds to cut Peter's chest with the tip of his hook. Before the hook touches Peter's skin, we see a mark on Peter's skin where the hook is to begin its slicing, that was not there before. Then as the tip actually slices him there is no cut or blood seen, it obviously does not have any effect on Peter's skin. (00:50:25)

Peter Pan (2003)

Revealing mistake: When Michael whacks the pirate in his groin, he bends over wincing in pain with his mouth open, in the next shot, though the pirate is bent over, his facial expression is completely different and is not in any discomfort. He does however stand at the ready for John's blow, which actually never even touches him, and the pirate's head starts to fly back after John's hands pass him. (00:48:45)

Revealing mistake: During the charge of Pelennor fields, when the Rohirrim are fired upon and when they clash with the Orcs, in many shots either the Rohirrim, horses' bodies or Orcs partially disappear and may reappear within the melee. For example, when the riders are fired upon the real horses run right through some fallen CG horses and riders and in another shot two Orcs' arms disappear as horses ride by. (02:00:10)

Revealing mistake: Wendy duels with Cookson, the tall pirate, at the Black Castle and slices his cheek in a close-up. The cut is actually on his cheek before the sword even touches him, though it wasn't there in earlier shots. (00:48:55)
